“Raising our Children’s Emotional Intelligence” is a parenting workshop which will be held on Monday, March 18th in the Charter Room from 7- 9 pm.
All K-8 parents are invited to this interactive presentation and discussion on how to develop the emotional and social skills that produce positive outcomes for our children. We know that negative emotions and low self-esteem in social situations can impede learning. Dr. Sharon Rose Powell will guide us through a five-step process for raising children’s emotional intelligence and giving them the tools they need to become more self-aware, motivated, and socially competent. Using evidence-based strategies, we will examine how to create and maintain a healthy, productive, social-emotional climate at school and at home. It begins with parents and teachers who can model what emotional intelligence looks like and can help navigate children through everyday challenges and conflicts. Please join us for refreshments and Dr. Powell’s dynamic and informative presentation. We will begin promptly at 7 pm and conclude at 9 pm.
Please RSVP to the school counselor, Sue Kushner, to let us know if you plan to attend. You can reach her by calling the school or by email.
